about the Director

Fiifi Coleman

Fiifi Coleman is a director, actor, and educator based in Accra, Ghana, and Washington, D.C. His professional background spans a wide range of performing arts fields including theater, film, television, radio, and dance.

Coleman owns his own theatre company – Fiifi Coleman Productions – and has directed and sold out theaters in Ghana with notable plays such as: I Told You So, You Play Me, I Play You, Still A Rose, Fowls for Sale and Prison Graduates.

He is currently the executive producer in the creative production department of Ringier Ghana, the local branch of a Swiss multimedia organization with offices in 13 countries around the world, and a guest director with Accra -based theater groups. Coleman holds a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Theatre Directing from the University of Ghana.

Costinela Ungureanu

After graduating from the University of Craiova, Arts Department (bachelor’s and master’s studies), Costinela Ungureanu has been an actress at the Marin Sorescu National Theatre, since 2016.

 A very versatile artistic personality, she naturally makes the transition from the burlesque to passionate drama, from powerful characters to ingénue characters, from humor to poetry. She has succeeded to create convincing and very expressive characters in a range of different performances of improvisation, dance-theatre, pantomime, operetta, and street dance, even rediscovering Bacovia, in a unique choreographic way.

She collaborated with the ”Jean Bart” Theatre in Tulcea  and Romanian Opera in Craiova, and, in the current season, she plays in the Craiova National Theatre’s most recent premiere, the frothy comedy TOC TOC by Laurent Baffie, directed by Alexandru Boureanu and Raluca Păun. She also is Alexandra / other characters in Heart and Other Meat Products by Dan Coman, directed by Radu Afrim; A Woman in Playground – text and direction: Raul Coldea; Annie Jaquet in 1,2,3…Bébé by Andre Roussin, directed by Alexandru Boureanu and Raluca Păun; Ana in The Misfortune by I.L.
