about the Director

Natasza Soltanowicz

Natasza Sołtanowicz is a polish theatre director and a music composer. She was a fifth-year student of directing at National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków Branch in Wrocław,  „SKiBA” College for Cultural Animators in Wrocław and Music School in violin studies graduate.

Natasza directed shows like Weirdos as shown during Festival OFF d’Avignon (France, 2018), won Grand Prix during festival PRO-CONTRA in Szczecin (Poland, 2018) and main award during the international Theatre Networking Festival in Craiova (Romania, 2019). Also, she directed show Piglettes by Clementine Beauvais in New Theatre in Slupsk (Poland, 2019) and City Blighters in J. Kochanowski Theatre in Opole (Poland, 2020).

Natasza was an assistant of the most important polish theatre directors like: Agata Duda-Gracz, Mariusz Treliński and Agnieszka Glińska and she worked with them in institutions: New Theatre in Poznan, Music Theatre Capitol in Wrocław, Wrocław Opera and Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera.

In the years 2018-2019 Natasza twice awarded the art scholarship of Minister of Culture for her outstanding artistic achievements. Three times her work was awarded by the scholarship by President of Wrocław city.

Apart from directing her shows she composes music and creates choreography. She begins 
 artistic work by setting the rhythm and sound of the performance, which is why music or rather a musicality plays a major role in her staging. Her passion is writing theatre songs and composing poetic stage images. She is bitterly looking for her own formula for visual and musical theatre.

Cătălin Vieru

Graduate of “Babeş-Bolyai” University, Faculty of Theater and Television, Romanian Acting Department, Miklos Bacs Class, class of 2011, Catalin Vieru became an actor of the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” in 2012.

His acting earnestness and, very often, his capacity of performing chameleonic characters consider him a precious “asset” within the artistic troup.

In Craiova he played numerous roles in theatre such as Adrian, Francisco – „O furtună” după W. Shakespeare, director Silviu Purcărete, Officer – „The Apocalypse” after Shakespeare, director Janusz Wisniewski, Jammie – „HOT L Baltimore”by Lanford Wilson, director Peter Schneider, Rhinocer Head – „Rhinoceros” by Eugène Ionesco, director Robert Wilson, Cassius – „Iulius Caesar” – by W. Shakespeare, director Peter Schneider, Rakitin– „A month in the country”– by Ivan Turgenev,  Tom- „Bang”– by Marius von Mayenburg, director Theodor Cristian Popescu, Tom- „Radio”– by Eric Bogosian, director Bobi Pricop, Horsewoman/ Lysander- „Athens by night” after A midsummer night’s dream& Timon of Athens by W.Shakespeare, director Charles Chemin.

The choreographic skills complete successfully his artistic profile and this has been already noticed in theater plays as Operation Mars by Alexa Bacanu.

For the role Hlestakov in „The Government Inspector” by N.V. Gogol staged at the  ,,Anton Pann” Theater  Rm. Vâlcea he has been nominated under the Debut Section at the UNITER Awards, 2012
